“Edit your life frequently and ruthlessly. It's your masterpiece after all.” — Nathan W. Morris.
After a weekend spent on fun activities or restful relaxation, do you take time to prepare for your upcoming week?
Consider using the day before the start of a new workweek to refresh and reset your mind and goals. This can prevent the worries and stresses of the week before from bleeding into the next week, ensuring more productive days ahead.
If your week starts on a Monday, the ideal time to reset is the latter half of Sunday.
To perform a successful Sunday Reset, think not only of all the necessary items you need to get done in the next 7 days, but smaller actions that will help clear your mind and help you create a productive atmosphere.
Here’s a few ideas to get you started:
Declutter your space.
Take some time to re-organize your personal area and put everything back in its place.
Check in with your finances.
Take a quick look at your spending habits from the week before, and make sure you are on track with your financial goals.
Write down your errands and any relevant due dates.
It’s easy to forget the small stuff. Try writing it down and checking it off to make sure it gets done.
Write down all your planned engagements this week.
Mark your calendar with everything you have to look forward to, along with the relevant time, place and/or person.
Create a plan for your meals.
Whether you are in the habit of meal-prepping or prefer to cook spontaneously, it’s a good idea to figure out what you want to eat this week, and gather all the necessary groceries.
This is the time to do all you need to feel ready for the week ahead.
